Karuun, Anthropomorphic Triceratops
A downloadable mod
The Karuun (Kah-roon) The Karuun are a scalehide, tri-horned people whose wide bodies are shaped to endure their craggy and spare homeland and whose cultures are shaped by ancestral reverence.
They believe that all elements: stone, fire, bone, and breath are inhabited by the spirits of their ancestors. All Karuun view their horns as holy or sacred instruments, some see them as divine tools of judgment, to be used only for ritual purpose or in defense of life.
Others adorn their horns with trinkets and symbols of identity as a way to honor the spirits of their ancestors, never allowing them to become weapons, to be sullied by violence. Both traditions are honored, and both are understood to be valid paths toward harmony.
Karuun communities wander between The Three Horns; sacred burial grounds of their dead marked by large stone structures jutting from the earth, located remotely in the Myr Mountains.
They train their bodies through ritual movement sets, athletic contests of brawn and endurance, and meditative stillness. Violence is never casual among the Karuun. To strike is to disturb the living world, and such actions are undertaken only when balance demands it.
Karuun heroes are few and far between. Those that find themselves outside of their native homeland are often guardians, mediators, and living bulwarks—figures who hold the line not through aggression, but through presence.
